FAQ's

1. Is there a supermarket near by?
   
   Yes - Tesco at Forres (4 miles away) which is open until 10pm Mon-Sat, and until 6pm on Sunday.



2. Can we light bonfires in the grounds?
   
   No - you are in the middle of a wood!



3. Are there bbq facilities?
   
   See above - but you can in the immediate vicinity of the lodge



4. Do you provide washing up liquid etc ?
   
   We provide a 'starter pack' of washing up liquid, tea towels, oven gloves, loo rolls, tea and coffee, and dishwasher tablets. All these are in your lodge ready for your arrival.



5. Is there parking for 3 cars at the lodge?
   
   There is ample parking facilities within the grounds of the lodges.



6. Is there overflow parking for visitors?
   
   See above



7. Is there a T.V in the lodge?
   
   There is a colour television provided in each lodge, with a DVD player for the (hopefully!) occasional rainy days.



8. Is there any local bird life?
   
   Lots and lots! We are actively encouraging wild birds with lots of feeders around the lodges.



9. Can we fish in the pond?
   
   The lochan has a few brown and American trout, but please put them back if you manage to catch any!



10. Where do we get the key if we arrive at 02.00 in the morning?
    
    By prior arrangement with the owners.



11. How do we pay for electricity?
    
    As from January 2005, electricity is included in the price.



12. Are cots provided in the lodges?
    
    Yes - by prior arrangement with the owners, as are high chairs.



13. Is there a kids play area?
    
    Yes - a large play area with games court, climbing frame and swings, wendy house and a rabbit/guinea pig hatch.



14. Are there any midges?
    
    This is more of a West Coast of Scotland problem!



15. Is there a shop in the grounds?
    
    No



16. Is there a video recorder?
    
    No, but there is a DVD player in each lodge.



17. Is there a hi-fi unit?
    
    No - see above.



18. Is there a washing machine?
    
    There is a purpose built laundry and information building where all laundry and drying facilities are housed.



19. Is there drying facilities?
    
    See above.



20. Is there a microwave?
    
    Yes - in all lodges



21. Is there a dishwasher?
    
    Yes, in the larger type A and B lodges.



22. What type of heating is in the lodges?
    
    Electric panel heaters (very effective!) with individual controls.



23. What golf facilities are available and how much do they cost?
    
    There is a wealth of golf in the area, from the Championship courses at Nairn and Lossiemouth to more modest courses in the area. Locally, Forres and Elgin provide extremely good alternatives.



24. Where are the nearest shops?
    
    Nearest shops are in Forres, four miles away, where shopkeepers always seem to have time for their customers. Inverness or Elgin for larger 'chain' shops.
